Frequently Asked Questions
I have not taken the pre-requisite, Psychiatry 79 yet but am enrolled in the Fall. Am I still eligible to apply for the minor?
Yes. However, please note your application/acceptance into the minor will be contingent upon receiving a passing grade for Psychiatry 79.
I am an incoming transfer student this Fall and unable to enroll in Psychiatry 79 – am I eligible to apply for the minor?
Yes. However, if accepted into the minor you will be required to enroll in Psychiatry 79 in Spring 2022.
I have taken classes that meet the minor requirements — am I eligible to declare the minor?
The BBH minor is competitive and taking classes does not guarantee admission into the minor. It is application based and designed to be a smaller minor due to the Capstone placement component. We only accept 16 students per year.
I am an incoming 4th year and have taken some classes that meet a few minor requirements, am I eligible to apply for the minor?
Unfortunately not. Due to the design of the minor all applicants must be an incoming junior Fall quarter of when they apply. The program is designed to be a 2-year program with lab & clinic placements during the 2nd year. Unless you receive college approval to exceed Time-To-Degree (e.g. apply Fall 2022, you must extend Time-to-Degree to June 2024), you will not be able to pursue the minor.
Is it possible to complete this minor within 1 year (3 quarters)?
The BBH minor is not strictly a course-based minor. In the sense that you can take courses and declare the minor. The program was designed to be a 2-year program. It is designed to be a smaller minor due to the Capstone placement component. Please see below:
